Safe Space

An open invitation…

The District of Columbia Psychological Association (DCPA) is organizing a free weekly group to provide support for those affected by the current political and social climate. It is our hope to create support groups focusing upon a reduction of anxiety, dread, fear and marginalization experienced by individuals impacted by polarization, rage, prejudice, racism, nativism and sexism that have characterized the current societal zeitgeist.

Open to the public!

Our goal is to provide a healing environment that promotes safety, understanding, anxiety reduction and unity.

The groups will be led by Dr. Stephen Stein, Ph.D., President of the DCPA, and Ms. Samira Paul, M.A., Chair of the DCPA Diversity and Cultural Competency Committee.

Who should attend?

Individuals experiencing fear or anxiety relating to discrimination based on ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.

If you are interested please contact Ms. Samira Paul at

Samira.F.Paul@gmail.com as space is limited.
